Free-Tier
Try Joy compute with starter credit — no card required for Indian customers using UPI, and nothing to cancel.
What you get
New accounts that verify their email address and complete their billing profile (name, country and phone verification) receive a starter credit in their wallet. The credit is enough to run a Nano server — 1 vCPU, 1 GB RAM, 20 GB NVMe, static IPv4 — for roughly a week on hourly billing, or to exercise an API-driven deployment pipeline end to end many times over: a full deploy, poll and destroy cycle costs a fraction of a cent.
The free tier is not a separate, slower product. Your server runs on the same Compute Fabric nodes, gets the same DDoS filtering and the same 1 Gbps port as a paid plan, and is reachable at a public IPv4 from the first boot.
How to claim it
- Create an account at /register with a real email address.
- Verify your email with the code we send you.
- Complete your profile under Account → Billing profile: legal name, country (this sets your currency and tax treatment) and phone number, which we verify with a one-time code.
- The credit appears in your wallet within a minute. Go to Deploy, choose a region and OS, pick "Hourly (wallet)" and launch.
Rules
- One free-tier credit per person or organisation. Duplicate accounts are merged and the credit is removed.
- The credit applies to hourly-billed VPS only. It cannot be withdrawn, transferred or applied to invoices for monthly services.
- Outbound port 25 is closed on free-tier servers; use an authenticated relay for mail.
- Abusive use — port scanning, spam, phishing, credential stuffing, cryptocurrency mining, DDoS origination — terminates the account without notice, as described in the Acceptable Use Policy.
- Servers are metered every hour they exist, running or stopped. Destroy a server you no longer need so the credit lasts.
After the credit
When the wallet reaches zero, hourly servers are stopped and kept for 72 hours so you can top up and resume without losing data; after that they are terminated and the IP returns to the pool. Top up from as little as $2 (about ₹150) through UPI, cards, net banking, PayPal or crypto and keep the same server running — or switch it to a monthly plan from the Billing tab and pay by invoice instead.
