You order
Pick a region, an operating system and either a fixed plan or a custom shape. The exact price is shown before you confirm, hourly or for the cycle you choose.

A verified template is cloned
Every operating system image is built and tested by Joy each month with current updates. A copy of it becomes your disk, so first boot is clean and predictable.

Disk, address and hostname are configured
The disk is grown to your plan size, a static IPv4 from the regional pool is assigned with reverse DNS, and your hostname is applied.
- 04
First boot and credentials
The server starts; the platform agent inside it sets the root or Administrator password and confirms the network is up. Nothing is emailed.

Ready in the console and the API
Credentials appear on the server page. Power, reinstall, snapshot, resize, stats, console and rDNS are all live from that moment.

Start, stop, reboot, reset
From the console or the API. The platform agent applies hostname, address and password changes inside the guest.
Same IP, same server id
Reinstall or switch OS in one action. The disk is wiped, a new password is generated, the address and id stay.
Free, instant, on-host
Roll back a bad upgrade or a broken config. A snapshot lives on the same host as the server; add backup space for off-host protection.
Grow live
More vCPU, RAM and disk applied live where possible and pro-rated on the next invoice. Disk downgrades require a reinstall.

A browser console on every server page, served through Joy's own console host, plus a reboot button.

Which operating systems can I install?
Ubuntu 22.04 LTS, Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, Windows Server 2019, 2022 and 2025. Templates are rebuilt monthly with current updates and the platform agent, verified per region and offered only where they install cleanly.
Can I upload my own ISO?
Not on cloud servers: templates are built and verified by Joy so the agent and networking work every time. Custom images are available on dedicated servers.
Does a stopped server cost money?
Yes. A stopped server keeps its disk and IP, so hourly servers keep metering and monthly servers keep their term. Destroy servers you no longer need, or snapshot first.
Is outbound port 25 open?
Closed on new accounts to protect the address space. Open a ticket describing your mail setup (SPF, DKIM, rDNS) and it is opened for accounts in good standing. Port 587 works immediately through provider relays.
What is the platform agent?
A small service inside the server that lets the platform set your IP, hostname and password, reset credentials and read live stats. Removing it breaks password resets and network configuration on reinstall.
